I need to replace Headgasket on 420A engine Asap. does anyone know where i can get the complete set for best price. Need to order before next weekend. thanks
I'\ Just picked me up a nice 97 eclipse for my kid and it need this minor fix.

Best price or fastest fix?
Online is usually the best price for something like this, but it is not nec. the fastest way. Auto Zone or Pep boys or any other reputable parts company could get this for you as well and it usually only take 1 day for them to receive the item.

I just got done doing a headgasket job on my car, and I ordered the Fel-Pro headgasket set from Advance Auto Parts. It cost me 99.88 for the set, which included everything you would need (and a few other things that aren't 100% needed) to replace while the head is off.

Unfortunately it doesn't, but a new head bolt set can be purchased for around 23 dollars, also from Advance Auto. Or if you plan on removing the head sometime in the near future for mods, go with ARP studs. If you aren't familiar with ARP studs, they don't stretch when torqued like the factory head bolts, so they can be re-used, as it is not recommended to re-use the factory studs. ARP studs are around $100 a set, so I guess if you plan on taking the head off more than 4 or 5 times (for whatever reason), the ARP studs would save you money, but I'd just go with the factory replacements if you're hoping for this to be a one-time thing.

Also, I just noticed a mistake in my post above. I stated that the set came with "everything" that you'd need to complete the job, obviously a mistake. I meant every gasket that you'd need. Sorry for the confusion.

try a local Napa store i prefer a set of victor gaskets. my complete set was around $250, but it's worth it expecally if you are planing on throwing in any mod's, and it's defanetly a good deal because you can go ahead and replace all of your seals in one go.

i don't understand what yall are talking about when you say "head gasket set" when i bought my Cometic head gasket it was... a head gasket and nothing else, i bought the arp head studs seperately. you CAN use the head studs you have now you jus thave to know exactly what you are looking for when looking for "stretched" bolts. if you see even ONE, go get yourself a set of the $23 factory ones... w/ a felpro head gasket... why not LOL.

i got a fel pro 3 layer permatorque and it works great. the only other thing u need is a exhaust gasket and valve cover gasket if urs are bad. would be a good idea to do a timing belt if u need 2 also. but i would just leave the intake manifold and egr on and make sure u get both surfaces clean.

ahh... duno why i kept thinking timing belt kit... i'm lisdexic i think haha. yes if you are replacing the HG... i'd most definatly swap out the timing belt, water pump, idler bearing and tensioner bearing... it's about 130bucks for the set and well worth the money, timing belts are all to often forgotten about these days until ppl see problems

my first suggestion is always www.cimotorsports.net they have any product you could want for any eclipse or evo, great prices and awesome service!!!

whoa whoa whoa! I wouldnt go that far. Don't get me wrong I know alot of people that love them and they have done wonderful buisness with. I also know myself, and quite a few more people who wont even get on there website, because there so frustrated with them. Its not about making excuses for bad buisness its about fixing the problem, once they get that down they will be great.

Although, I have noticed lately on 2gnt and stuff that they have been browsing the forums and working with people who have complaints with them and thats great to see.

well i know they are on here and i know they are on 2gnt and wll help anybody with any problems with thier products. the only problem i had with them was i bought a lightweight crank pulley from them some time last year (OBX) and didn't recieve it for a lonnnng time, honestly i forgot about it, and bought another one from ebay LOL. later i was looking through my invoices from them and coincidentally i came across that one where i boguht the pulley from them almost 2 months ago btu had never gotten it... called them up, they apolagized to me, gave me a full refund and a 9% voucher on my next purchase. since then they have a new shipping team that is much more on the ball and will provide you with a tracking number as soon as it goes out.

ok, i got the gasket set already, went with the Dino people, any, i'm in the mist of putting it on, my engine is in a million one peices. will have work completed at weeks end. thanks
i will post a few ugly pics when i get a change of before, during and after. thanks for the help people.
