head gasket question

Alright guys, I've got a 6bolt rebuild in the works and am in dire need of a head gasket. I've searched the net and forums for a specific headgasket and have not been able to find the necessary info to purchase one. I'm looking for a cometic head gasket with stock bore, but that is .020" thicker than stock. If someone could hit me with either the specs to look for or a link to the right website it would be much appreciated. Again, I hate to have to start a whole thread for something so rudimentary, but I'm ready to hear the motor run that I've spent so many hours and money on. Thanks for any help.

If you looking for multi layer gasket get Nippon racing 4 layer metal gasket from eBay . It's the same like Mitsubishi MLS but cheaper and it's better than cometic ... I run bot of them and since I put the Nippon head gasket with arp studs never push coolant anymore .... The cometic it's only 3 layers vs Nippon 4 layers. Also Nippon racing it's made from Mitsubishi if you don't know

Heres the one i am talking about its 1:1 with OEM Mitsubishi 4 Layer That goes for 160$

you dont even need to use copper spray with this gasket.

also the nippon 4 layer head gasket its 1.5mm thick - which is 0.059"

This is true. I had one special ordered a few weeks ago. Had to go with a pretty thick one since the spare head I had was milled down .040.

I'm not sure if other companies out there offer the varying thicknesses like Cometic does. So it depends on what you need.

As far as the the rumors that they are bad... its like every part out there. I know a friend of mine who's been running over 30 pounds of boost (GT35R) on a Cometic with no issues for over 4 years now.

Go with cometic or something of sorts. No reason to go with the stock weaker HG.
