I just put on my new HD (Home Depot) front lip! It looks great, and cost only about $25, plus if I scrape it off, don't have to worry about it as much as a more expensive lip. It is the first visual mod that I've done to my car, and I'm pretty happy with it overall except i can't figure out how to get the corners to stay up flush.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking about doing some screws. Maybe throughout the whole underside of the bumper to help hold it on in case of a scrape. I really don't want anything that will tear up my bumper too much although that tape would probably pull the rest of the paint off that isn't already scraped off....:p

I used taping screws and big plastic washers along the whole thing on mine. It's holding up after 3 years still.

Believe me, that tape with NOT hold at all. I had the extreme double sided tape holding mine up, and it got ripped off in first 30 minutes..

Anyway; Get self tapping screws with washers and drill them in about every couple inches or so. I have a good bit holding mine on, and be prepared to replace yours all the time. i get about 2 lips per package for like 14 bucks at Lowes.

** Plus, no offense, but i think that tape that i see looks like crap.. I love the HD lip, i rock it. But get rid of the tape and ONLY use screws. Tape that we can see makes the mod look tacky.

Did you clean everything properly when you did the tape? I use tape every time with a screw on each end to hold it up and have only had the tape come loose once, and that was because I did not clean it very well. Every time mine has fallen off is because I go into a driveway angled and it is still too steep and it just rips the lip straight off, never a tape problem. Hell this time I even used interior tape but cleaned everything very well and that thing seems to be glued on there

i guess mine wasn't clean enough but since i did the screws, it NEVER comes off. haha =)

I had the HD lip on my old bumper and I used the tape plus screws and washers every few inches. Held up great for the 2 years I had it on. I took one really bad slam which tore the lip up pretty good as you can see below.

I made sure it was super clean before I put it on. I used some crud cutter from lowes. Super strong stuff, takes wax right off and anything else in the way. Its paint friendly though and it doesn't eat your hands off when you use it. Dips and driveways are my worst enemy now. If it ever comes off, I imagine it would take the rest of the paint right off that wasn't already scraped off.

Sry for digging up an old thread.

Can anyone give me an ebay link where to buy the right HD Front Lip like in the pictures above.

I am not sure which one this is.

Go to Home Depot and purchase a "Frost King" garage door seal, and some 3M double sided tape for outside use.

that tape wont hold up to the speeds of highway driving and such for very long unless you buy 100mph tape to hold it on, but even then i'd still advise using screws.

Wrong. I've had mine on for months now with a couple track runs of 115+ and endless driving on the freeway at 70+....no falling off here. And I didn't even use the exterior tape. Clean it good and do it right and you don't notice the tape nor does it fall off unless it is scraped off
