So I lost my job and am being forced to sell my car for bills and other things. All of the mods are in my profile. The car has 88,000 miles on the body but the engine and all of the modified parts have 3,000 or less miles on them. The only thing wrong with the car is it has a cracking running down the passenger side windshield which will cost someone 500 to fix if they want to take the time to do that, which I'm keeping in mind with the pricing. I was thinking of putting it up for 6500-7000 and then seeing what kind of interest that would generate. I don't know if I would go under 6,000 but I might have to consider it if it comes down to it. This was my dream car so I'm just sad to see it go. Anybody that can offer some general insight would be appreciated.

Keep your car I'm in a similiar situation but I will never sell my car. Im willing to live out of my car and it's not even running right now. LOL Buy a 500 dollar hoop'd like a civic or camry try to finda a job and when your back on your feet get the DSM back out.

well i would have to say...it all depends on who you are selling it to. If its some kid that has the money and prob not gonna take care of the car and will pay 10k for it then def 10k or higher. but nobody wants to see that happen. i personally would say if its someone that knows about cars and will take care of it with the mods and all i wouldn't go below 7500...just a personal opinion though.

Price all depends on how much time you have.

List it for 10k and it will sell,
But that 1 in a million person has to come around and find your ad and might take a year.

I have seen your car on craigslist for months now and looks like it hasnt sold.
If you need it SOLD NOW your going to have to drop prices its just that sad.

Do you have another car or anything like that? Why would you sell your transportation to pay off bills and what not, and then not being able to go out and find a job. I grant you the fact that jobs are hard to find now, ill give you that all day long but dont sell your ride man. Try as hard as you can to keep it. You worked your butt off for that car and to have it looking and running the way it is, try to keep at least that so you can find that good job you`ve been looking for and continue to own your car that you worked for. Trust me, its better to keep it and not fall into debt building another one man. Good luck to you in finding a job!

I agree with the guys above. I would say keep your car and wait till time fixes things, and the economy gets better. Not worth getting rid of such a nice car and in the end after paying your bills off having no ride to go anywhere and having to start from scratch all over again. Wait it out a little, but if things don't shape up by next year then i guess sell it. But hold on to it ! You will regret it if you sell it now. Just my 2 cents.

Depending on the size of your bills you are probably better off returning your car to stock one piece at a time. The mods will sell for more off the car than on and then you get to keep a platform and a running vehicle.

I highly doubt you can get $7500 in today's market for your car even with its low mileage. It is an unfortunate fact that when you need to sell your baby usually so does everyone else. Parts are still selling fairly well and haven't taken nearly the price drop and you will find a much larger market for a stock or lightly modified car if it comes to that.

Head to Kelly's Blue Book New Car Prices, Used Car Prices, Blue Book Value, Car Reviews - Official Kelley Blue Book Site , or NADA N.A.D.A. Home Page and get what retail book value is on your ride, for unfortunately to you, readers see what price you are asking for your ride will go into these sites and compare actual book values to what your asking price is.

Better be prepared for some feedback on this one.

That's one sad thing on owning an older car then shove lots of money into it to make it what we want it to be, because we got the fair market value against us and it's never our friend. For example: I paid $1400 bucks for my ride, shoved in close to another grand (tires, timing jazz, etc.) and I know that I'll never get that grand back let alone the price I paid for my ride.

Only way that value will go up if we keep our rides OFF the road, low miles, restore it to mint, factory condition and keep it for two plus generations where it will then head to the collector's market.

I don't know your situation or how fast you need this car sold or the mod list. But my information to you is that talons have a lower resale value than eclipses even though they are the same except for cosmetics. Having said that I have seen modded eclipses for 6k in the same year as your talon and w/o the window crack. I'd say if you want to sell this car anytime soon you're going to have to drop the price even though the Tsi AWD is the highest valued talon, i still don't see you getting the asking price but then again we are in different locations and prices vary. This is just my opinion so I think you should drop the price but I wouldn't go below 6k.
