Has anyone ever seen anything like this?

Well I was putting a new starter plate one car and pulled my pressure plate off and this is what I found. This I a brand new fidanza 4.3. Only about 1k-2k miles on it. Could this be from improper break in? Thanks.

Based on the wear patterns on your pressure plate I can tell you were fairly easy on it. Were you ever stuck in extended stop/go traffic with it? You might want to contact them with pictures of your pressure plate, flywheel and disk friction surfaces for a warranty claim. It could also be subpar lining material or the adhesive was noncompliant.

It is common to see this problem, but normally from excessive stop/go traffic or moderate to extreme abuse.

The same thing happened to me back in 2009 after 3000miles, except mine was the F1 Racing Clutch ($130 on ebay). Yes I was def easy with this clutch. I've actually never launched the car yet (3 months on the new awd chassis). I would try and contact Fidanza but.... When I bout the shell, this clutch was brand new never installed Sony don't have a receipt or anything.
