hey guys quick question..I am about to start with a 6bolt swap in my 2g...and i was wondering if there were any harnesses in the 2g that will either need to be rewired, removed or if i have to get any extra harness.......and also will the computer in a 2g work on a 6bolt engine.........All opinions/sujjestions/critics welcomed?I am an amateur in this field so bring it on im ready

The only harnesses that will need to be cut are the 2g crank and cam position sensor harnesses. You can get around cutting them by purchasing the conversion harness from RRE that makes it a plug and play affair. The two sensors from the 2g are replaced by the 1g cam position sensor. Yes a 2g ECU will run a 6 bolt if you have all the right sensors. Electrically, the swap is pretty easy. Just read some of the articles out there pointing out injector wire and plug wire swaps.

hey guys i was wondering whats going on if my car is knocking and its not the pistions .

Physically knocking as in a metal to metal contact? It could be rods, axles, a little gnome banging on your block with a hammer. You have to give a better example. Explain conditions when it occurs. Cold starts, idle, accelleration, cruise. You get where I am going with this.

Does anyone know how many sensors.........re needed for the swap and their name so i can check them against the ones i know...Thanks

The only sensor you will need that isn't available on the 2g is the 1g camshaft position sensor. Every other sensor you use off of the 2g. MAS, water temp, oil pressure, knock....
Thanks men

Marco makes a wire harness thats plugs right in for the swap( no headaches with wiring). I think its like $60 or something call them @ Magnus Motorsports 905-264-1989

Does it have the connector for the 1997+ cams sensor? On a 1995 you can just cut the wres off the old sensors and make a harness but the 1996+ the cam sensor has no wiring going to it so I had to cut the plug off and hard wire a pigtail for a 1G cas onto it.

I did this exact swap and it was much easier to cut and splice your own Cam angle sensor w/ your 2g crank angle, than to spend the $$$. You only splice two(2) wires and the other is a ground to the chasis..Secondly, you DON'T have to get the 1g TPS sensor. 2g will work perfect.

1G TB has the idle switch integrated with the throttle stop and the 2G idle switch is integrated into the TPS. That and the 1G TPS has 3 pins and the 2g has 4. So you MUST use the 2g for simplicty.
