Im currently researching putting a 6 bolt into a 2g AWD (not my current car). The link at vfaq doesnt work so i was wonderin if anyone knew of another place, or knew themselves of the possible problems that arise (a walk through would be good to get familiar).

Also ive been reading these boards for more then a year, so please no USE THE SEARCH responses, i do and dont get much results (as most of the responses say use the link at vfaq)... THANKS! :thumb:

Ive been there. The link for the swap doesnt work it only documents the cam angle sensor.

try magnus motorsports.com The only difference really in the swaps is wiring the cam angle sensor

thats the problem, the link is on magnusmotorsports.com, and there whole site isnt workin. If that is the only problem then it shouldnt be bad :)

anybody? i really wanna know exactly what has to be done, and what should be purchased or found beforehand. :(

Yea, I can't get to that site either. I've memorized most of it, but I'm in the final stages of my swap and it would be nice to have

I've picked up all the parts for it and test fitted the block in my car using the 2g motor mouts. Only thing I haven't done is actually assemble the block (still at Buschur) and I haven't looked into where to plug in the oil pressure, low oil, coolent temp sensors. Its been fairly easy so far.

You'll need a new oil filter bracket (the part that bolts onto the block itself) but you can reuse the oil filter housing. I ended up reusing all my old oil sensors from my 2g. Some of those pipe fittings can be a real pain to get off. Also, the block doesn't have a banjo bolt for the turbo so you'll have to rig a tee into the coolant line. Make sure you use a brass tee because plastic ones will get brittle due to repeated heatup and cooldown. Are you putting just the shortblock into it or heads as well?

I've got the water cooled oil filter housing from a 1g. What bracket are you talking about? I thought the filter housing bolted directly to the block?

What do you mean by the banjo bolt for the coolant?

Also, I am using the 1g head on the 1g block

Sorry for all the questions, but the magnus site isn't working and I'm not using the RRE method

Click on the link that was provided by hellotbone. Scroll down to the post dated 09-29-04 (the post after it says "nice house") and you'll see a picture of the oil filter bracket. The 2g ones have 5 bolts that hold it on the block. I think the 1g ones have 4 bolts. If you scroll up 4 posts from there you'll see a picture of the engine from a front view. If you look real hard, you'll see a hose that comes off the left side of the water pipe and goes behind it. There's a banjo connection behind there that my 1g block doesn't come with, hence the tee. When my comp is back up and running, I'll try and take a picture of my engine bay. In the meantime, hit up your local store and get some bolts, brake cleaner, etc... You'll also need to round up a CAS and a harness to connect to your 2g cam and crank angle sensors. Good luck! :thumb:

Do you mean the post before it says "nice house"? I thought that was the oil filter housing. Yea, I'm looking at mine right now and it has 4 bolts that bolt it to the block.

The only hose I see is the one that goes from the thermostat housing area to the oil filter cooler. Is that what you mean?

Yep, got a 94 CAS w/pigtails.
