Hard Starting

When I go to start my car it usually takes 3 or 4 tries. I turn it over, it sounds like its about to start and then it dies right away. It does that 2 or 3 times and then it starts just fine. I don't have a fuel pressure gauge but I'm assuming that there's no fuel pressure when I first go to start it. I swapped out the regulator and that didn't fix the problem. Anyone else have an idea on what else could be the problem? The car is a 2gb with a 6 bolt motor.

The only suggestion I have is bump the key just enough to get the fuel pump to run a couple times and then try cranking it. If it starts right up I would suspect something in the fuel system. Maybe the filter?
