Hard intake fitment issues - j-pipe

I just picked up an injen hard intake for my 98 gsx and I'm having problems with fitment. Firstly, its hittinh my j-pipe and getting skewed to the right (towards the firewall). On the filter end of things, my hard uicp is in the way and since the j-pipe is in the way I don't have much leeway to try to move it around. Should my j-pipe be getting in the way or is it at an improper angle? As of now, my intake is angled up to the point where I can't properly close the hood. I got the car with the evo3 already in it and I know its a real one, but I wouldn't be surprised if the guy skimped out and got an ebay install kit, since he did with the uicp kit. The uicp looks good though - I don't think it could be made to fit any other way.
