I did not figure this really fit anywhere else on these forums so I thought this would be a good place for it...

I am about to do a fuel cell setup in my car and was just exploring my options and saw where they had the hard fuel lines that you could use versus stainless braided. I know that i would need some adapters and things to us the ss lines in some places, but for long runs, like those from the cell in the rear up to the engine bay I was thinking it would be nice to use the hard lines since they are alot cheaper even after buying the fittings. I would be using ss lines from the cell to the pump and filter then to a hard line to the engine bay where it would bolt onto a T-fitting for the nitrous and fuel rail, off that T-fittting would be ss lines to the fuel solenoid for the nitrous and to the fuel rail. Between the fuel rail and the fpr would be ss lines also. Then from the fpr to the fue cell would be hard line. Does this sound like a bad idea? If you want to bash on this idea feel free to, thats why I am posting the idea, to see what other peopes opinions are on this, whether its good or bad. True experience with this setup or just good knowledge of how it all works would make for some good input! Thanks a ton in advance! :thumb:

its a sound idea. but then again when you buy the line ur gonna have to bend it urself. which could turn out to be a disaster. I bought basically a factory hard line for my fwd(but just a straight hard line). so on some of the bends going to the fuel tank i bent it a little far and broke it :notgood: but u can buy a complete repalcement for the stock line for $100 from SBR(tank to filter).. and then make you some adapters with more line and fittings. even with hard lines it will be a custom install. I jsut find it easier to do with lines that bend..

Yeah, I am pretty good with the bends and all that so that wouldn't be a problem. I'm not going with the sbr lines because they are made to be used with the stock fuel tank and the stock fuel filter and all that good stuff, and I am wanting to go with a fuel cell setup, aeromotive a1000 pump with the aeromotive filter and afpr. This is just a drag car mainly and if I ever take it for a long trip it will be trailored or else I will have to get part #16302, the speed controller for that pump so it doesnt overheat and work itself to death b/c they say you cant run it more than 30 minutes without that speed controller. Thanks for your input

Well u can by fuel line by the FOOt.. either or how u want it. but it was a suggestion maybe a little easier then hard lines ..but since ur good with bends then u should not have ot ask then.(not to flame) but i figured it would be easier with braided lines then hard lines.
since going into the trunk area (if thats ur area for the tank). braided lines would be SO much easier.they can go where ever you put them.. good luck though
