Hahn Racecraft SMIC Questions, please help!

Hi all, I have a chance to get a HRC SMIC from a private seller for 2G, but the intercooler is from the HRC StageII Turbo Kit for non-turbo 2G. Is it a direct fit with my '97 GST? Attached are the pictures of the intercoolers, the first one is the SMIC HRC sells for factory turbocharged 2G, while the rest are the one from the Stage II Kit. I figured that the one from the Stage II kit has shorter outlet tubes, that's why I'm not sure about the fitment. Also, for you guys with the HRC SMIC, please share your experience. Is it good and how much boost it'll hold? I'll be installing a Big 16G Evo and I'm not sure if it's OK. Any input would be great, thanks!!!

it looks like it would fit if you turn it around opposite as the picture is showing. It doesn't look as thick as the other one. Do you have any flow#s for this intercooler?

Not sure about the flow#, neither the seller nor HRC website provides any information on the SMIC from the Stage II kit. I agree with you it doesn't look as think as the one for GST/GSX but it definitely does look bigger than stock. Should I get it for $150? Here's another picture of it.

I had one on my neon with their S16G and that smic was always warm to touch, so it didnt seem to work very well, but I am sure it helped. For the same amount of money you can find a supra smic and many people have got those to work. There is even a howto install on the vfaq.com site. I dont have a supra smic on my car but maybe someone else can chime in about it. Thats my $.02

Well, For Starters, I Know That That N/a Turbo Kits From Hahn Place The Intercooler On The Opposite Side Of The Car, On The Drivers Side Fenderwell, But, From The Pics It Looks Like It Might Fit. As Far As Flow And Everything, The Aftermarket Turbo Kits Only Push Like 7-9lbs Of Boost And That Might Be How They Constructed That Intercooler To Only Flow So Much. Anyways, It Looks Bigger Than A Stock Intercooler And If Can Hold Boost I Dont See A Problem With It.........

I think im the only in this thread that can reply accurately on the performance of this
smic since i have one and have used it for almost 5 years now...... this HRC SMIC is not as bad as people might think.... i have a turbotrix small 16g and have run 18psi on a daily basis and honestly have not found any problems with it.... spool up is not so bad around 2500 and full around 3300 although the top end is not that good im not sure if its the turbos fault.... i already bought a FP green so ill see how this smic performs with the bigger turbo anyways thats my $.02
