Had to break hardline out of fuel pump holder

Well, on my way to rewiring the fuel pump for Project 2g, i was forced to break the hardline right out of the fuel pump holder.

So, i need some ideas of what to do. I would follow the right up of how to redo the whole fuel system in SS line, right from the pump to the filter, but that was done on a 1g. The 1g holders are much longer than a 2g, so im either forced to run a barb fitting into the holder and have no way to secure it, or run a SS line right from the pump of of the holder, and again, have no way to secure it.

Give me some ideas of what i should do.

I had the same problem. Sucks...... You could drill the cover and use a bulkhead fitting. Search summit for fuel line bulkheads, I can send a pic of what I did if you need it.

The problem is the length of the pump holder. The 1g is very long, over a foot i would say. The 2g gst is VERY short, 8 inchs. So, it would be difficult to get a bulkhead in, and a small hose and clamp inside there.

I completely understand. My had to alter my setup for various reasons and ran into a similar issue squeezing in the bulkhead. I ended up finding a female barb that screwed onto the bulkhead that will probably fix your problem. I tried alot of different configurations and now Summit totally loves me. It should work the same for you. I don't have the pic handy right now, but I'll try to get it posted in and few hours. Hopefully it will work for you.
 
I would be worried about the jb weld breaking down and loosing pressure. I'm not even sure if I would trust the marine type JB Weld.

If I remember correctly, I had to turn the bulkhead arround with the nut being on the inside of the tank. That end of the bulkhead was actually shorter giving me enough room to slip the hose onto the additional barb, and clamp to the pump. I tried about 6 different ways....

If the connection is that tight comming off of barb with the bulkhead, maybe consider welding the barb on. It may be your best bet other than replacing the entire fuel pump holder.
 
I would only be using the jb weld to keep it nice and tight against the holder. It wouldnt be really holding anything or what not.

Local posted this up after I did my 1g. He bulkheaded his 2g using a -8 fitting. He drilled out the -8 to whatever the factory opening was. If you're not using -8 you can simply use a reducer on the top side to drop back down to a -6. All you'd need is a bulkhead, bulkhead nut and couple stat-o-seals
