I have a 95 gsx with a big 16g, and basic mods such as intake, blowoff valve (greddy type-s) exhaust. the only thing I need a boost gauge and boost control. My friend has an rsx type-s and he has comptech headers exhaust and intake and the hondata tuning package. other than that he has nothing at all. this kid claims he beat and sti and amonst other cars such as m3's and such. His type of of racing is on the roll racing and never on the track, for some odd reason he makes too many excuses when it come to 1/4 mile racing. My question is can I beat him with the mods I have? and if not what should I do to make my dsm able to beat and rsx with basic bolt on parts covered by factory warranty and hondata tuning?

You got a B16, just get the boost controller and crank up the boost. (Considering you have the fuel to support it) :thumb:

with fuel and boost youll walk him from a roll, your problem is weight and drivline loss. so with proper support, boost and tuning youll walk him. lets just say my b16g gst would walk him REALLY badly on the top....

well u could take a plank off of your bench and lighten it up a little bit then you would be sure to win.

Buy a boost gauge.

I second that because for all you know you could be hitting 20 psi all day long, also where is all your supporting fuel mods?

Maybe you should have a bought a boost gauge and a mbc before that 16g, unless that is you wanna blow up your motor.........

i raced one about a year ago and i was almost stock all i had was a intake/MBC@18 psi on a T25 haha and thats it i lost by 1 car. he had Exhaste + intake + shortshifter.

BTW i blew the T25 and Exhaste manifold after 2 years of Boost at 18-19 Psi Whoohoo had an reason to upgrade ( to my wife that is)

what kinda of warranty lasts 8+ years on your car? and hondata tuning on the eclipse? iam asuming your talking about the rsx... why even ask just race him... if you lose then you know you need to work more and if you win... well keep working more... because hes gonna hate...

I raced an RSX Type-S at the 1/8th mile track when i was bone stock (T25 and all that!) with sh!tty tires. He had an intake and exhaust, thats all i believe. I stomped his ass w/o a problem, and he was shifting good, had good traction, but he was just barley starting to gain and i was across the finish line. As for ¼ mile it wouldve been close, but it was an easy kill. :thumb: I dont think youll have any problem, tell him to quit being a wussy and race from a STOP, like normal cars do.
