I have an Eclipse RS, and today i bought a set of 97-99 GS/GS-T rims. My front brakes are going bad and decided to upgrade them to GS-X Front Brakes. Tonight I was looking at my rims/brakes and saw that there isnt much more room for bigger brakes. If anyone has any info as to whether or not GS-X brakes will fit behind 97-99 GS rims, it would be greatly appreciated.

My second question is will GS-X rear calipers bolt up to the stock RS brackets?

Thanks in advance - Nick

The GSX front brakes need at least a 16" rim to fit.

I am not sure what you are asking about the rear brakes. I would assume that you have drum brakes and would like to swap in discs. If so, then I would just find a junk car and get the spindle/knuckle/whatever and all that attaches. I think you will also need the proportioning valve.

If you already have a disc rear then I am pretty sure that the rear GSX brakes are the same as your GS.

No you have a RS so your drum breaks would have to be converted 1st with the spindles, knuckles, like said above. As far as GSX break system being able to fit. They may then again they may not. You have to remember that GSX rims are 17" not 16"

Remember, not all Gsx's came with 17's. The 2 piston calipers wont work with the smaller RS/GS/GST caliper brackets. You need the 2 piston bracket as well, (they should come with the caliper). The 2-piston calipers will clear all stock 16 inch mistu wheels. If you want to swap disc brakes in the rear go here http://4g64.150m.com/rearbrakeconv.html
Expect to pay 400 or more for the swap unless you get it cheaper at a junkyard
