I've been eyeballing a GSX for a long time as my first DSM and finally bought one that was in surprisingly good condition. The car is bone stock, its the same as it left the assembly line and has 55k original miles (it was owned by an older gentleman).

My issue is that the engine stutters when accelerating fairly vigorously, maybe 50% throttle and above. It drove perfectly fine when i purchased it and it sat in my garage for almost 3 months but i would take it on the drive way and let it run at least once or twice a week as it is not registered or insured yet. i took it around the block every day this and last week hoping the issue would go away and each time i would experience the same problem whether the engine is warm or cold. I believe it is definitely engine related and not the trans. The CEL does not come on when the engine stutters and yes it does come on when i put the key in so it wasnt tampered with. the engine idles fine and it doesn't seem to stutter when i rev it in the driveway. This is my first turbo car so i was afraid it was that as I've never experienced this issue on any of my other cars.

Thank you all in advance

Pressurized air always takes the path of least resistance. Find the first boost leak and fix it, and the next will appear. Keep at it until you can hold 5psi over your target boost level for at least 30 seconds or so.

Check out the maintenance threads; replace all the belts, fluids, plugs and wires, etc.

Plan on spending several hours here just searching and reading as much as you can; it's all been covered. It seems overwhelming at first (and turbo cars are a different animal), but it is all worth it in the end. ;)
