I have a 98 GST Spyder and I found someone selling a 3" Apexi cat back exhaust (not sure which model) but when i looked on Apexi's website it says their systems will not fit on the spyder. I called them and they said none of their exhaust systems will fit on the spyder model. Has anyone ever heard of this? Is it really true or was the representative I spoke to mistaken? I mean the exhaust system is for sale for a great price so I dont want to pass it up but I just wanna make sure it will fit. BTW it came off of a GST but not a spyder.

I've heard that too. But people run 2g gst (I believe) exhaust on the spyder...

Spyder's have the same exhaust path as a regular GST right? aren't their suspension built almost the exact same way? With the spider lacking a little less structural integrity in my opinion. I'm pretty sure you should be ok...

GST Spyder is the same as any GST. Depending on who makes the exhaust, the hangers maybe different but they will still work. I have used three different ebay exhausts 2 GST and one GSX and they have all fit the application. Be careful with the cat-backs on ebay if they show a reducer, it will fit on the stock downpipe but you will have issues if you go to a 3 inch down pipe. The cat back with the reducer will be too short unless you use the reducer - which you do not want to do if your down pipe is already 3 inches.

One of my buddies has a spyder, we both use to be fwd & both converted to awd. I didn't specifically pay attention to his exact hanger locations but I'm 99.999% sure their the same. The routing itself is the same.

The system will fit but if you go with the Apexi system, ditch their resonator if you plan on making some descent power as it will really hurt top end flow. It necks down internally to about 2" (sorta defeats the whole purpose of having the rest of the system at ~3"). Install a true 3" straight through resonator in its place.
