Ok guys help me out here. My car skipped timming and all my valves bent. I will be replacing them with aftermarket ones also the springs, retainers, guides. I am also replacing the lifters and cams. I already have the cams (hks 272's) I will be getting the crower spring and retainer set. I don't know if I should get stock size valves or 1mm over. What part of my powerband would this help me in?<--(reffering to valve size) I am also going to go ahead and have them port match the intake size of the head to a fist gen gasket cuz I am going to put a 1g intake manifold on my car, I am doing this cuz I have been hearing lately that 2g heads flow better when ported out to be like a 1g head or bigger. Now I need help with turbo selection. I want something that is going to make the most out of the rest of the mods I am getting. I really want something that spools fast and makes really good power. I will also be rebuilding my tranny and I will be getting an lsd. I want to hear what you guys have to say about all this and give me some suggestions. Remember it is going to be street driven. For a current list of the stuff I have on my car now check my profile. Thanx in advance for your help and suggestions.

I'm pretty sure that 1mm oversize valves help mostly in the top end - especially if you use HKS 272 cams which will flow insanely well at the top end but suck when you aren't in boost. The springs and retainers will also allow you to rev the motor up higher than stock more safely so a turbo that is a little laggy normally will be bearable i think.

As far as turbo selection goes I'm not going to be much help - i have a big16g and i love it for street driving - mine spools like the stock T25 with a MAFT in blowthrough and straight intake pipe, but most people now don't seem to think it's enough of a turbo these days.

Just go with the stock size valves. If you bent valves, have the head checked by a professional to make sure other damage was not done. If you bent valves, prepare to replace your guides, which are not cheap. If you are going to "build" you head, make sure you do it right the first time and don't cut corners.

As for a turbo selection, search and see what other people with similar setups have recommended and had success with.

Hope this helps,
Mark
