So this is my first rebuild and ive got my spare motor apart, i just needed to know if and what parts need lubricated as they go in, ive tried searching for the past 3 weeks and i cant find anything solid on what to do. Any other advice, tips, and links are welcome. TIA
 
I suggest you read up on General engine rebuilding. All engines are built the same. Pistons, connecting rods, crank. Or on the head you have valves, springs, cams etc.

To answer your question, you need to use assembly lube on your crank bearings and connecting rod bearings, pack your oil pump gears with lube, and also your cam journals. You also should bleed your lifters to prevent wear on startup. They will “tick” if you don’t prime/bleed them.

There is also a lot to be done at your machine shop. Please do yourself a favor and do ALOT of reading or find someone who is knowledgeable about rebuilding engines. The last thing you want is to have your beautiful motors bearing clearances wrong and your pulling it back out after 2 miles of driving.
 
Keep everything clean as you go to! Clean, clean, clean. It only takes a little bit of debris or metal flake somewhere and all your motor work is toast. Lay down cardboard, paper, whatever. Keep your work area clean and organized. :thumb:

Also, just food for thought, I prefer using Brad Penn oil over assembly lube any time I do an engine build b/c it's a little heavier and "stickier". That's not to say I haven't used regular assembly lube during a build, I just really like the Brad Penn. An NHRA race engine builder turned me onto it a few years back.
