Gst has no pull, especially top end.. help

98 gst.. doesnt pull hard... I know the bov leaks anything more than 14 psi.. but thats not the problem here. 2nd gear feels like it takes forever to finish.. I really lose power after about 4500 rpm.. feels like i have no turbo. It spools up fine and stays right at 13 the whole way. what could be my problem? My gsx used to throw me back in my seat in second gear.. this feels like my old 3g. sloww. Somebody please?

The timing is off. Get a timing light and check if it on TDC. My car also acts like this now. I just dont have the time to fix it.

+1 My 1990 Talon had same problems, I set timing, and wow the power is back

Same problem here. Me and my friend logged my car and it had no low end timing and we did a 3rd gear pull, it took forever for it to get to 6k.

Its realy easy. 3 wires. 2 of the goes to the positive and negative for battery, and the other one that has a hook inside goes to the spark plug wires.

sorry to stay on the subject, but is it definately the timing?? im not new to eclipses but i bought my 1st gst recently and i hear everyone saying how fast they are but my car doesnt seem like it.. im close to stock except for a couple things but i know it should be faster..also i drove my cousins car and his car seems alot faster and pulls like crazy(he only has an exhaust and a clutch and uicp and licp.. i want to make my car faster but i wanna make sure its running like it should before i do(sry for the essay)

It could be a couple of things but the 2 most common problems for having no top end is a boost leak and or the timing belt is out of time.

the clutch is also a good thing to look into, if it hasn't been replaced recently it could be slipping at open throttle.

Look under the hood, does your turbo have an elbow at the outlet that faces the passangers side? If so you have the TtooTiny syndrome. SPikes or hits boost hella fast and tis gone by 5500rpm give or take? I kid.


Yeah timing and leaks. BOV is a big one though!
