GS to GS-T

I recently found a junked out 1g GS-T in a local junk yard, and upon inspection I discovered the engine was still intact. At least, the outside of it was. The engine was completely un-molested, meaning turbo/intercooler etc... were still there. My question: is it feasible or difficult to turbo my 1g 2.0L Talon with the parts from that GS-T in the scrap yard?

I was reading somewhere that if I keep the internals of my N/T engine the same, then I can achieve similar results to a stock GS-T/X with only (approx)8psi of boost because the compression ratio of the stock N/T is higher than the stock turbos. Does this sound right?

With the comparative cost and headaches, it's much easier to sell the GS and buy a turbo DSM straight-up. No having to screw with the wiring harness, no tracking down weird little problems that will crop up with a shoehorn job.
Yes, with higher compression pistons you'll make more power on less boost. However, you also lack oil squirters to help keep the pistons cool, the higher lift/duration cams off a turbo 1G, an ECU that knows how to 'speak' turbo (aka, account for the extra air), and countless other little fiddly bits.

I'm sure that there are plenty of NA w/turbo folks around that can guide you through it. But when a GS-T in GOOD condition sells for around $2500 or less, it truly isn't worth the headaches unless you're building the car as a hobby, for-fun rather than wanting to cheaply upgrade. If it's just for fun, to learn, go for it. If you're looking to save a few bucks... it is NOT worth it.
