Alright, so I'm cleaning up this stock GS-T Catback I got from TsiJohn333 :) and I had a question about the hangers...

As you see from the pictures of the GS-T exhaust and then the one I have on my car, they are different style hangers on the muffler. Does someone have a picture of what maybe I'm missing on the muffler for the GS-T? Thought this was supposed to be a direct bolt up haha.

I'll take pictures later this afternoon and get them posted.

You MAY need to swap out your Hangers to fit up on the underside.

And that's what I was thinking - worst case

heres the front hanger. i didnt do any mods as far as replacing hangers or anything. it came with a bolt that went in place of the old hanger.

Thanks for those pictures. Do you know what bolt and thread size they are? I know I looked at the pipe from the cat to the muffler that is currently on my car and it has those bolts for the hangers. I guess that aftermarket muffler the previous owner put on decided not to use those bolts.

I had the same issue when I replaced my catback. When I purchased my car it had a custom made exhaust that had hangers welded on. When I replaced that system the new exhaust used the factory bolts, which I did not have. I had to pull one of the factory bolts from where the cat is mounted and take it to Autozone and purchase bolts. I dont remember the exact size, but I may still have one in my extra parts pile that I could check for you.

I found the bolt. It is a M8-1.25 x 40mm hex head flange bolt.

These worked on every mount except the last rubber mount that connects to the back of the muffler. On my car that rubber mount was thicker than the rest and required a longer bolt than the others.

my car had an after market exhaust using hangers instead of the bolts when i bought it. luckily when i bought the gst catback it came with all the bolts. anyways just go to autozone. by the way are you going to have it welded? if you are just ask them to weld hangers on it (if you dont wanna go thru the trouble).

According to the pictures on the hangers for the muffler, do you use the hanger closest to the pipe or the one closest to the edge?

Well got her all installed today after messing around with it for a bit. Turned out great and I love the looks and sound of it. Defiantly an improvement. Will have to see how she sounds on the highway cruising.
