So I finally got my car running after replacing a couple shredded plugs and after taking it for a drive I noticed a little smoke coming from under the hood and a burning plastic smell. I found where it was smoking it turned out it was burning a little oil spilled onto the block. Then after a little feeling around I noticed that my low pressure a/c line was hot as hell along with the bolt that holds it in place was grounding against the control arm bolt. I found that one of the grounds that runs off the battery had barely any wire attached to the crimp so I went to autozone and replaced it with a new one. I started the car back up and checked everything theres no more grounding but everything still gets burning hot. Also in the process of fixing my car I took my fuse box partially off just to look under and see if any wire were messed up, could you guys take a look at it and see if I hooked everything up right. My stepdad (Honda tech)is telling me I'm grounding out through the suspension and through the a/c line is this true I've never heard of this before. Plus I've checked every ground and either replaced them or tightened them back down what else could I be facing? I'm including pictures to give a little visual aid.

There aren't any wires that are getting hot it's just the low pressure a/c line which makes the bracket hot and that makes the bolt hot. I want to make sure this is normal or if theres something wrong because I've never heard of the electrical system grounding through the suspension or a/c system but if it can then I want to know how to fix it.

No that isn't normal. Grounding through the chassis yes a/c system know. If it is getting hot and your not running the a/c then that is a problem Are you missing a ground? One not hooked up? Maybe a wire chaffed touching that line? How hot is hot exactly?

Hell Ye, Outside air FTW :hellyeah:

A/C system is a 2+70 setup. 2 windows down 70mph!:rocks:

Lol every car except this one I haven't had a/c outside air ftw:rocks: Ok that sucks to hear I was hoping the line could've been clogged causing it to do that. All the grounds are hooked up the only ones that I've messed with are the ones on the fuse box that why I posted a pic of them just to make sure I hooked them up right. The line, bracket, and bolt get burning hot after about five minutes of running. But there's no wire touching that line so I don't know what could be causing it to do that this is why I hate electricity:banghead:

So going against my step-dads diagnosis I went out and turned the a/c on and guess what the low pressure line got cold like it's supposed to so that throws the whole grounding diagnosis out the window. So now I'm thinking there's something clogging the system since it only gets hot when the a/c isn't running. Does that sound about right? Like I said I've never had a car with a/c so I know nothing about it.
