Grinding!!!

Hey, I am having problems putting my car into gear when the car is on. The transmission was working fine, then one day I went to drive it and when the car was on it grinded really bad when I went to put it into any gear. When the car is off, I can shift it into any gear. I read about adjusting the clutch, and went out to give it a shot and I can get the nut loose. There is a little metal bracket in the way of using a wrench. Could this even be the problem and if it is, could someone give me some advice to losing this nut. Thanks!

well depending on how bad the grind is. i just might need some good gear oil.. also u might not want to forget to put in the wave spring....

I would recommend thoroughly checking out your clutch master and slave cylinders. It is not unlikely that one of them has been going out, and now its to the point where the clutch is not completely disengaging while the pedal is pushed all of the way in. Good luck.

To loosen that nut: put a wrench on the nut and turn the shaft with a pair of vice grips. Check your tranny fluid, your slave/ master cylinders, clutch fork (could be bent) and fluid level in both the tranny and master cylinder. Let us know what you find. Check your gear oil first and then let us know if that solves it first, stick to simple then work to difficult
