When i bought the car it was grinding when it started. I didn't follow KISS i replaced the flywheel and starter, not starter plate mine wasn't to bad just a little bent. I beat that as flat as i could with a hammer. i put it all back together, and it still grinds. i know i have the right starter and flywheel. Also now it grinds when i touch the shifter. i have good clutch pedal pressure, the clutch itself was good still. i have good battery and terminals. I just don't know guys... :sosad:

Your synchros could be bad, that just puzzles me as well, with the car out of gear in nuetral it grinds when you start it?

yea it grinds on start, but it never ground when i moved the shifter before. It shifted beautifully actually.

I'm putting my money on the plate then. The new parts you installed wouldn't have made it WORSE, and you did 'pound it flat'

One word, insurance. If you don't replace it now, it could be bad and you will wish you would have replaced it when you had the chance.
