ok my starter was staying in too long for awhile and i just replaced it......a week before i did, my car started to make this grinding noise when first warming up(pretty sure its not starter related) It has to do with the transmission cause it gets louder and quits when i put it into gear and such. After 5-6 min of driving its gone:confused:

You are probably going to have to have a pro look at it in person. Grinding could be anything. Does your car have an auto or manual trans? You might want to update your profile so we can base our diagnosis on facts and not presumption. It's much easier that way. And better for you. Let us know if it's auto or manual.

Good Luck
