Here is the problem. I got this car used for $600 and rebuilt the tranny and engine myself dont know what else this dope did to this poor thing. Its a 92 TALON AWD. 6 Bolt crank, 4 Bolt Rearend. I just put a ACT 2600 in and the clutch works great, but here is the problem. I noticed that when i launch the car there is a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!! GRINDING coming from maybe underneath my armrest or back seat. I am very familar with DSM cars and i was thinking that it could be the carrier bearings on the driveshaft and HOPING ITS NOT A STRIPPED TRANSFER CASE. The reason that i am thinking that its the carrier bearings is because when i am cruising and if i am not high in the RPM range the car VIABRATES like crazy. ANYONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM, the grinding is only on launch and does not seem to affect anything because the car launchs hard and all 4 tires do grab, just sounds like something is really wrong and probably is. should i do U joints and carrier bearings
Thanks
tom

Visually check the bearing. Even drop the drive shaft and check if there is a lot of movement in the bearing. Other then that if thats not it the problem is probably in the trasnfer case area. Check the splinds on the driveshaft and transfercase, and the splinds on the shaft that links the transmission to the transfer case.
