Anyone play this yet? I picked it up today, will give a detailed report on Monday. Got a cold sixer in the fridge and a 64" Mitsu LCD at the house calling my name. :thumb:

I don't have it (yet), but the guys I autox with have had nothing but good things to say. I'll be picking it up for sure.

O.K., I said I was going to post a review on Monday, But I spent abour four hours playing last night, and this game friggin rocks. There is a bit of a learning curve at first (as with most driving games) but the physics are fantastic, and the in car view is just insane. I was driving a boosted 350Z and you can hear everything from the turbo spool to the bov. If you happen to slam into a wall (which I did frequently) and the glass shatters, everything naturally gets louder.

The drifting sections of the game are the most fluid I have played to date, and the rest of the driving is very realistic. The only thing hard core gamers will have a problem with is the "flashback" option, where if you have a spinout or whatever, you can pause and go to the replay, choose a scene beforeyou crashed, and resume from there.

I think its kinda cool, considering in any of the GT series, you could race a 10 lap course, and f-it up on the last corner. This way you dont have to start over a new race (or you could choose not to use the option, if thats you preference). All together I think this game will give Prolouge a run for its money.

I checked on the demo on this one for 360. It plays really well. I believe it's from the same people that did DIRT. Which was also a great rally game.

yea i think im going to buy it, was dirt the one where you could here the bov everything you let off the gas in the game? i played a rally game at the store one the 360 and never new what game it was, i was in a sti in the game and it sounded amazing.

I have played grid and have to say that it is a really fun game. There are a lot of different races to choose from and you cannot get bored with all of them. The drifting is really fun and the points system is cool. Online for grid is really fun. I wish more people played online for the computer =).

Damn I shouldve got it instead of madden 08.

At game stop they had a special going on were if you buy 2 used games you get one free so I got Soul Caliber4 and COD4 and got Madden 08 free, since I didnt really know what else to get.
I thought about gettin Need for Speed pro street but im glad I didnt, I decieded to rent it first and it was HORRIBLE, one of the worse car games I ever played, so I didnt get Grid since the Need for Speed Prostreet left such a bad taste in my mouth.

yeah i got this game a while ago. this game is awesome to play with the 360 steering wheel. it brings a new level to the driving in the game. i played it for a while with the controller and then my friend brought over his wheel. the only bad thing about it is there aren't that many tracks to choose from and cars, since you can't upgrade the cars you basically just drive the same ones over and over again..:beatentodeath: but the derbie on this game is insane because of the physics and wrecks in the game.. i haven't played forza 2 which i here that one is better with the physics and its less arcady than grid.

so you cant mod the cars at all?

Have Eclipse GSX 1999, and 3000GT 1999 in MidnightClub Los Angeles, full interior tuning, headlights, taillights... good game

Eclipse GSX

personally, i thought the driving physics in grid were more realistic than forza. forza beats grid amount wise since theres so many cars and tracks (well, maybe not too many more tracks since its just dif variations of TT and mirroed ones, but i digress) but everything else, grid blows any racing game out of the water to me. codemasters knows how to make a VERY realistic game, and actually have good crash physics too, its not fun if you cant roll your car:sneaky: i havewnt played online since i rented it and didnt have gold at the time :( very fun game, and fun to make your own team car at the beggining with paint and decals and what-not. the drifting is spot on, and each car is balanced for different skills or preferences. the silvia and corolla for beginners to the rx-7 and supras (i think supra, maybe thinking of japanese races instead) for experts. the demolition derby is by far the FUNNEST thing to do in the game. smashing people into tires and guard rails is always fun to do. other companies can learn a thing or 2 from codemasters.

###### the best racing game of 2008/2009 IMO. Physics/Game engine is rated top 10 by IGN, and IMO its probably the best feeling sim ive played, and its not even trying to be a sim racer. Its drifting engine is by far the best drifting engine created, the shit you can do with those cars if you know what youre doing is amazing. Its sad this game gets overshadowed by crappy Forza and GranTurismo, however G4 does give it alot of credit for CodeMasters first attempt at a track racer. GRiD2 and their up-and-coming F1 game will absolutely rock.

DiRT2 is awesome, im playing it on PC right now.

I finally just got this game for my PC. Full spec game tower, hand built. With a crispy LED 1080p monitor.

Got it for $5.99 since it came out in 2009. :D

Can't wait to try cockpit view. So sick.

...

Just tried it for a few races. The presentation is insane. The graphics are great, I guess.

It felt like baby school, it was so easy. I was drinking a beer and won the first race with the Viper. Later I realized it had all these driving assists on. Turned them all off, turned the difficulty way up.

The cars are extremely forgiving. Some of the cars seem about right, but some of them seem ridiculous. The grip is unworldly.

The Formula 1 car was all wrong. Codemasters needs more professional input into the way cars work - especially in a game where you can't seem to setup the car on your own.

I'll probably get into after playing for a while, you know. :)

I'll play through it, but it's back to strictly simulations for me after this.

Eh, I probably just had a broken off front spoiler on that car. I was too quick to judge this game based on a few races, especially when I didn't have the controls down yet. This game is superb. I'm really having fun with it.

I bought an ebay car with 48 wins out of like 90 races (!), but it had been totaled a few times. I think cars like these have bonuses to top speed and acceleration, but lower grip and brakes - or maybe they get damaged easily. I'm mean, I'm sort of guessing here, but mine was like an oily mongoose. The car was a crazy handful but man it was fast if you can keep it together and headed the right way through the turns.
