Greddy type S vs. type RS

Ok, so the slowboy racing front mount is on its way, I had it flanged for a Greddy Type S. Problem is, everyone is out of the Type S. Extreme PSI sells the RS and the recirculating kit for 190 shipped. Is the Type RS proven to be a good BOV yet? I know it's relatively new, but it's getting really hard to find a Type S at a decent price. I'd rather buy the RS since it's a newer design, but I just want to make sure it can hold boost as well as the Type S did. Thank for any input!

The RS is an awsome BOV, I Just actually got mine in a few days ago. It is proven to be a better BOV then the regular TYPE S but the TYPE S isn't bad either. Personally I say go with the RS you wont be disappointed. It can handle higher psi level's then the S and the sound level you want is adjustable.. It's just an upgraded version the TYPE S

I actually replaced my Type S BOV with a Type RS. The valve is significantly larger and the unit seems to be better assembled-I'd go with that one, not to mention the fact that if you run it open-atmos., it sounds way better (from a mouse fart (type S) to a serious congestion issue (type RS). I replaced my other BOV because I didn't like the color (dumb reason-I know).

Anyway just a tip, if you have a greddy flanged pipe , don't buy the Eclipse Kit-it's cheaper to just purchase the universal kit and get the $15 or so adapter.

(BTW: if you want a near-new Type S for cheap, let me know).

The Type RS is a little bigger. 37mm for the S, 40mm for the Type RS iirc.

Quick question: I bought the Injen Intake(for stock BoV) and ordered the Greddy Intercooler kit, if i get the RS for a '95 GST(kinda dont like buying universal stuff) will i be able to recirc out of the box?(because i bought the Injen for stock BoV to recirc) or do i need to buy something else?

i actually i bought a rs for 75 and put it on my car and then i bought a type s for 15.. so the type s is on my car and i like it a lot better.

if you want i can take pictures of the exact ones i got.. they are both real greddy ones. the rs (blue) has a way stronger spring and thats why i didn't like it and thats why i have the type s (purple) one on my car right now

You should forget about GReddy and go with the HKS SSQV set-up. GReddy can't hang with HKS.
The first BOV that I had was the GReddy Type S. I bought the Blitz Super Sound after the Type S and didn't like either one of them. Now I have the SSQV from HKS and I would never choose any other BOV over it. My GReddy didn't seem to work right. The Super Sound sounded like shit. The SSQV is the ultimate BOV...period! Good luck.

update: Well i went with the Greddy Type RS and i can safely say im extremely satisfied with it, i had to get used to it, but it makes a nice PWOOOSH sound, its not loud as i am recirculating but it sure does sound nice Only i adjust ment i had to make was i had to tighten one of the UIC hoses because it was sounding funny. Once i tightened those clamps it works like a dream click on my profile for some pics of it
