You vented a 1G Valve?

About the Type R. The reason why it isn't common on the street (and for that matter, no one has had it enough to really have a full out opinion on it) is because it's built for "race applications". If you're not full boost, tromping on it, and then let off all the gas, you're going to get compressor surge. I'm sure you know what that is, right? You said when you're in fifth and fluttering with the TurboXS valve, well... A Type R isn't going to make that better.

yeh...LOL :p I vented it for like 2 days...this was back in my newbie days. Then I realized how shitty it was running and connected it back up. I really like the way the 1g valve ran when recirced but I'm like Tom...I just want something that other people can hear better.

You know whats funny...A couple days ago I was at a rice shop and the guys were looking at my car as I parked and then I was talking with the guys (I wanted to sell a CAI for a 97 Accord but they didn't want to buy it on the spot LOL) anyway the guy asked me what blow off valve I was running...I said Greddy TypeS...He was like "Ohhh, well you know the Blitz is better for your car right?" Me "Uhhh, ok...I don't want it though" LOL...####in ricer thinks he knows whats better for performance in a DSM...plus he is a Honda guy...WTF...You ever get ricers trying to tell you what is better for your cars performance

Yes I know what compressor surge is and that definitely makes sense. I guess a brand new Type S is in order and hopefully it won't leak *crosses fingers*.

A little diff but one time I was fueling up at chevron (this is in a 94 VR4) and some ricer pulled up and asked me to pop my hood. He then proceeds to pretend to orgasm in his pants ( come on its a stock tt engine w/ only an open air filter) any ways he proceeds to tell me I should get some clear head lights from eurolights.com... I go on to tell him that nobody makes aftermarket HEADLIGHTS for the 3kgt and he tells me they'll custom make them for 200$$... I'm like ok but they are already clear so whats the point... he just looked at me like i didn't know wtf i was talking about and then walked away... I guess because the inside of the light housing is painted to match the body color they weren't clear enough ???

Stoopid civic owners...

I also had one guy tell me i should up the compression and displacement to 2.5L ... I guess 3L is too small

I think he meant the corner lights that they make clear...but yes, if I had a dollar for every time someone asked me to pop my hood and made some F+F comment I would be a very wealthy man. One guy was looking over near the power steering fluid reservoir and asked me if I was turbo. When I said yeah he responded with, "yeah that's what it looked like." I'm thinking...that's the power steering fluid and a motor mount you idiot.

:thumb: thats what i had hoped until I asked and he said - nope the headlight and reached down and left a nice greasy hand print on the glass.... I was like uh - huh ...

i think he was insinuating a projector headlight style like all the accords seem to be getting

Coil pack problem

Started the car today and reved it a couple times to about 3k rpms. The bov squeeled each time I let off. Don't beleive anyone when they say you will have compressor surge problems.

Mine is vented (translator) and I also have the standard spring installed.
Very nice bov if I say myself. :thumb:

I have a Type S on the same turbo (Well, just about) and slightly lower boost (1.1 bar, have kicked it up to ~1.4 bar (About 21 PSi) when I had some race fuel in my tank), and it's never leaked. :thumb: Then again, it did take many moons for the Type S to come... Perhaps last year in May, I know they had a huge back order of them to make, so the leaking issues could be solved.
