Replaced my old WesTach EGT meter with a Greddy Peak/Hold unit re-using the old meters' hookups.. including the Rheostat wire (white lead on the Greddy).. which BTW also connects to the Boost Gauge.

Problem is that my Greddy EGT now is dims opposite my dash lights and Boost gauge

what could be the problem?

Also.. where would be a better place to tap for the Rheostat (currently tapping off the actual rheostat dials' harness).

I am not sure if I know exactly what you are talking about when you mention where to tap. When you are looking at the car from the front it has been said several times that the exhaust runner to the far right (nearest the p/s pump) runs the hottest and that is where you should tap for the EGT.

If it is dimming opposite your cluster then you just have to tap the other wire mentioned in the above link. This is the best place to do it, right behind the rheostat switch, but watch how many gauges you hook up, there is an upper limit before the fuse gets overloaded.

Thanks Ken.. will give it a try.
Funny thing is that I tapped into the wires going to the boost gauge that were working fine with the dimmer on both the boost and old EGT gauges.

With the Greddy EGT there is one 12V Power (Red), one ground (Black), one Ignition (Orange) and one "Running Lights" (White).. which I assume is the dimmer.

Found out that I had used the correct wires per the VFAQ above (the ones used from my Boost Gauge).

Unfortunately per RRE's VFAQ the Greddy Electronic gauges cannot utilize the dimmer due to our car using a floating ground.
This explains why connected to one wire it would dim in reverse and the other would not dim at all.

I just went for the never dim option and will have to deal.
