Hey everyone, well I have a car im about 98% sure im getting (91GSX) and i went ahead and did what i thought was the right first few mods (it has a new tblet/waterpump/headgasket/machinded lightly milled head/ oil pump. I got some awesome prices on a Greddy EGT, triple pod, apex turbo timer w/harness.

Article

Above is a wonderful install article, but i have a few questions.

1: Isnt cyl #3 the optimal runner for EGT cause it burns the hottest?
2: Since im going A piller pod, I wont have the same direct access to power source, I was thinking running the power source off the ACC wire on my turbo timer (good idea or not?)

If anyone has something to add, feel free. I know, i usually dont buy shit before getting the car, but the fact remains i got good deals and egt/turbo timer could be used on whatever car i get next, so yeah, please no flames about that.

SOunds good on the wiring, but im still curious about cyl 3. ON hondas i know this is the optimal cyl, and i heard dsms were simialir. Well see if anyone else has input, if not, ill be following that guide to the T.

Yup #1 runner is the hottest on dsm's. Take a look at my gallery and you will see mine tapped into it. Be careful when your doing the drilling yourself with then intake manifold on the car. It took me a good 2 hours to get through and i made the hole slightly too big for the probe to screw into it. I was pissed b/c i used the exact size it said to drill. So i bought some 1600 degree cold weld from autozone and put it around probe fitting.

the greddy probe thread in, no need for a hose clamp to hold it down like some other probes require? Its a 1/4 inch thread correct, or would it be metric since it is greddy.

Also, could someone direct me to a thread on just what temps are right for what and where i have to worry. I am having a hard time finding a thread dealing with this via search. thanks in advance

Thanks for the info, i did the vfaq thing, but apparently i missed the whole mods section. Well thanks anyway. Mike
