Ok as some of you have seen from my other posts I just got my first DSM (99 GST) having some issues (likely valves) but in any case.. also trying to replace damaged interior parts soooooo question.

What is it called Gray or black???? I see online parts called gray but they are almost black, then I see VERY gray parts called gray as well, to my naked eye my interior is black, dash is black, console is black oddly the ash tray is gray LOL

some part lists dont even show black only gray or tan, I am all kinds of confused here, I cant see how this BLACK would be called tan in ANY circle LOL

please help shed some light on this for me

You mentioned the three colors that Mitsubishi used in their interiors... BLACK GREY TAN
In all I see a black dash and console... the seats can be any of the three colors...
Possibly your ash tray may be a replacement ??
I make these comments based on the cars I have seen..... meaning there could be other colors but not that I am aware of..

I just grabbed these pics from google of eclipse interior. Hope this clears up what colors are what.

Actually it draws more questions LOL I have none of the 3 LOL

other then the ash tray which im sure is a replacement my interior is ALL black (oddly except for the visors which may have been a replacement as well LOL)

closest is the 3rd pic but thats 2 tone, mines ALL black

Then someone has painted the bottom dash pieces and the bottom console parts. NONE of the interiors came all black man. Just those three options LOL.

Factory 2G Eclipse interiors came in:
  • Blue (1995-1996)
  • Gray (1995-1997)
  • Black/Tan (1997-1999)
  • Black/Gray (1998-1999)
Factory 2G Eagle Talon interiors came in:
  • Gray (1995-1997)
  • Brownstone (1995-1996)
  • Black/Tan (1997-1998)
  • Black/Gray (1998)
Anything else would be modified. Like @Dusty Landrum said, there were no all-black interiors for a 2G.

ok so this is why I'm having a hard time matching parts... gotta say if they are painted they did a GREAT job LOL

Again, I promise you they are painted/plasti-dipped, or whatever. For example, the reason your visors are still grey is because it is a HUGE pain in the ass to have them wrapped in black, which is why they were left alone and only did the headliner. So please, its not IF they are painted. After everyone has answered your questions and these cars have now been around for 20+ years.... your interior is not all black oem LOL.

If you need to color any part of your interior ( plastic parts only ) may I suggest SEM coat ..

Read up about how to re-color your panels and things on their web site... Recoloring will last a life time if done correctly .. you need to clean .. use an adhesion promoter ..then color the part ... Also you can get regular paint that works great on metal surfaces .....
To bad you don`t live closer... I could have redone your visors for you....

Got cha.. Awesome Thanks, I think I was just shocked because this dude painted EVERY single part LOL

I'm gonna grab some of that interior paint that way I can buy whatever color I can get my hands on and make it match
