glad that you guys are okay. sorry to see your car like that.

it's really hard to tell from the picture, but it does look like you can.

Wow WTF Glad to see you got out ok even if the car didn't. Cars are replacable people are not. That was a hard hit you guys are lucky to be ok.

BTW 0=the number zero
O=the letter

Probably not salvageable... high-speed rotating/oscillating parts travelling at a constant velocity, then suffering extreme g-forces? I'd be surprised if you didn't shave a nice slice out of each cylinder wall or leave a nice gouge at the least. Not to mention the bearings. And the tensioner probably gave up at that point... freewheeling timing belt, jumping as many teeth as it wants.. even if the pistons jammed in the lower end, the springs and retainers may be all over the inside, and good luck finding the lash adjusters if they are.

Axle snap, but the wheels keep moving... your tranny MIGHT have survived, if the axle broke clean and was still allowed to rotate in time. Maybe. if the bell housing wasn't smashed in the impact.

Though that's my cynical side thinking about engines being relatively fragile things... hell, anything being pretty fragile when smacked real hard by something going a relative 60mph. I wouldn't hope for too much.

(PS - Above note about differentiating zeroes from the letter 'o' seconded. It doesn't look cool... it looks 'desperate to be hip')

glad every one is ok.

haha sure as hell looks like it. Was your girlfriend in the car when this happened :sneaky:

Man that sucks. On a side note, are those uh...black door panels I see? :D
