My head consist of no port just a debur, upgraded hla's, SS valves, Manley high performance springs, ti retainers, and its a 2g head. I also have bronze valve guides. Im just wondering what would be a decent rev limit to shoot for. Im sticking with a fwd and its not my dd. My turbo more than likely will be a pte6262. Any ideas. im also trying to figure out what cams i will be using and just emailed delta about their cams. I dont know if my valve train can handle 8500-9k rpm revs with a set of 280's up top. mind you my car will not see that consistantly, i just want the reassurance for the track.

any input wold be greatly apprecated, really trying to get this project running thanks!!

will 272's give me that mid to top end im looking for? I called delta yesterday and they gave me their prices on their cams. They said all of their profiles are based of either hks or kelfords. Which profile would be the better choice?

The cams oyu choose play a roll on how high you can rev and how high you really want to rev. I have the comp cam 272 and they are a good step up from the HKS 264's that I had. I think that 272's or 280's will do just fine. Kelfords are pretty agressive and so are the comp cams. Also Forced Performance has a good variety of cams for you application. If you are looking for good top end power and planning on going high speeds, then the 280's will probably be a better fit. 272's will get you better mid range. Also 8000 - 8500 rpms seem about right with your set up. I have dual valve springs and 1mm oversize valves and I hardley ever rev it to 8000. Granted my fp green turbo runs out of steam at high RPM's. Good luck with your decision on cams.

i forgot to mention my valves were 1mm over...but im going for a high trap speed. 1/8 mile is the closet track around here so im going to be limited on how much traction i do have until i upgrade my trans. But will the 280 be alright for a 8-8500 rpm rev with my valvetrain? And like i said, more thn likely i will be going with a pte turbo, preferably the 6262.

So i called delta up and heres the deal...they said either 125 for a regrind or 185 for a new billet(per cam). Which route should i take? Ive really never heard anything bad about a regrind, maybe just the longevity of the cam itself, but for a extra 120 i can get a new billet. So 250 would get me a nice set of "kelford" 272 regrinds....or 370 would get me "new kelford" billet cams. What should i do. Anyone running regrinds, and if so do you like them? I also heard kelfrod cams where good for making "high hp".
