I'd sat go for it!! You'll have the look of new rims, you'll be happy like you "had just purchased" new rims and it won't bust the wallet! Really no cons to this one. Do it! :thumb:

oh, looks better with the drop too.

Im thinking, strip them myself and polish up the lip really good, then take them down to the powder coat shop to havem done, so they dont chip like paint. Hopefully I can get this done next week.

I think you're gonna' have some tire pressure and cornering issues with that right front tire!! :p J/K, I know it was a photohop job.

That sounds like the right way to go with powder coating. I have seen some really nice painted rims done at home though as well...but if you have the resources ($) I would definitely get them powdered.

powdercoating is expensive. If i were you I'd just do a good job of prepping/painting.

waterblast, sand [ 180,400,600,800 ], wetsand 1500, primer, wetsand, paint,wetsand,clear

its an assload of work, but one month later and daily driving through gravel ladden roads, they're not chipped one bit :thumb:

I've seen painted wheels on my friends 1g talon and they look like crap, he says its because of the wheel and tire guys that takes his rims off with air guns and mounting/dismoutning tires on them. However, if the rims can handle paint on rock roads I'll prolly go that route and just be very careful taking my rims on and off.

Can the tire guys put the wheel weights on the other side of the wheels? I dont want them things showing.

why would you take off the tires to paint the wheels? we just taped off the wheel and sprayed...

and besides, i've seen plentyawheels painted and came out great and lasted... it's all in the prepping, just like regular body paint
