GM MAF upgrade question???help!!

i am about to do the upgrade to a gm maf and wondering do i Have to use a translator or can i just plug the gm maf in my 1g 4g63 to the factory wire harness

Yes, you need the translator. It's purpose is to 'translate' the GM MAF signal into something our ECU can understand. This is why when you install it, one plug goes to the GM MAF and the other to the stock MAS plug.
