Hey guys im kinda new to the dsm stuff and how stong the motors are so i figure ill run it by the pros :thumb:

so my car( a 98 eagle talon tsi) has a small 16g,ported O2 housing, intake, walbro 255, 550cc injectors apexi safcII, 3 inch down pipe with 3 inch exhaust(no cat), full fmic hard piping, mbc.

Im currently running about 18 psi on the set up and want to know if i could go any higher for a day at the track? just let me know what your thoughts are thanks.

25 lbs! i ran that for a short period of time till i took it off the road for bigger turbo, alarm, custom interior. Enjoy your day at the track. Don't break anything! do you understand how to retune the car with your SAFC2? oh i also upgraded to dsmlink, thankfully. I disliked the SAFC2 very much especially when i had to drive it home in omit mode. till i found out it did that if u held the joystick up for a few seconds. I believe it was up. UGH. SAFC2 is now in a drawer with the translator.. anyone?

i have a 93 automatic tsi and it runs great till you try to drive it then it runs like crap kinda like my civic before it got tuned as soon as my dsm hits boost its like its not tuned at all and i just replaced the 5spd ecu with an automatic one the car makes boost and kinda goes into limp mode for a few seconds i stop the car and it takes off normally then does the same thing

Yes a stock 7 bolt will be fine on 25 psi as long as its tuned properly, and no need to worry about crankwalk, very very few cars get it.

WTF what does this have to do with ANYTHING?

do you have a afpr for that 255?

careful, 25 is usually around the limits of the stock headgasket

i ran 22 peak, holding 20 on the same setup in my 1g awd. ahh i just noticed, are you on the stock sidemount? if so then you have pretty much reached the limit of the intercooler. i was heat soaking the shit out of my sidemount at 18psi

I would say 23 or so tops to save yourself the risk of blowing your headgasket.
Also, im not sure how well 550's will do with that much airflow, you will be in pretty high IDC's at that pressure.

There really isn't a "limit" per say on the stock headgasket, it is about the tune and the proper supporting mods. But you should switch to ARP headstuds and a different headgasket if you plan on running high boost.
