I found this site and it tells you what all you can get rid of as far as emisions and all that. My question is can I do this since I dont have a ecu controll system? Or is this only if you are running a stand alone system like AEM ems.

I am putting in a new motor and looking to clean up the engine bay and maybe simplfy things a little.

I wouldnt even mess with it. U wont make much of a gain. I have my shit gone and now i'm trying to put them back in. My evap and purge valve. But i cant smog w/o them in cali i'm not sure on smog laws there.

There are no smog laws in kansas. In fact we can do whatever the hell we please. The only we can actually get busted for is having ground light bulbs showing.

Anyway yea it looks like a pain but it would make the engine bay look a lot nicer.

It is actually quite easy, just rip out all the vaccum lines and start over. Get yourself some new vaccum lines and caps from the parts store and follow the Taboo diagram. The only hard part is making a block off plate for the EGR valve.

Will the computer go crazy? I imagine the lights will come on in the dash but as long as it runs good im gonna try it.

Is the can under the battery on the frame the charcoal canister. Or is that some kind or vaccum thing. Either way I broke the hell out of it pulling the motor.

yeah its the charcoal canister. I dont think removing the emissions would make the computer turn any lights on, but im not sure.

If your car is pre 1995 it will be fine. I have no lights on and my evap system is gone, my egr is gone and I followed taboo diagrams. Yes just cap off the ports you are not using.

i just pulled the emissions on my 90 gs-t the other day, i have less vacuum leaks and the exhaust actually sounds a little better, As for Cel's and the engine running shitty, you wont throw any cel's and when your doing it you need to have the battery out, so the ecu is gonna reset anyway if it takes you longer than 15 minutes to do. I used caps that were measured to 5/32" for all, dont forget that there are 4 lines that you hafta be under the car to get to. All i had to do was adjust my idle a little bit and it was fine.
