Steve and I worked last night but from the get-go we knew it might be a very productive night. When I plugged in my 150,000 BTU salamander it tripped a 20 amp breaker and decided not to work for the night. So it was pretty cold and after a day of working at our real jobs we struggled to get much done.

We actually expected things to slow down for us and we've talked about "getting over the hump". With all the pressure to get the car running, to launch a sponsorship campaign, to do the sponsor negations, book the travel, book the practice session, work on the video stuff, etc...etc..etc.. Basically we're getting a bit burned out. Oh, I forgot all the PIA that goes with getting a trailer hitch and a trailer.

Anyway, we are pressing on and we have some great sponsorship news to share in the near future and it looks like we might get the car rolling this weekend. So things are picking up for us and I think the worst is behind us.

Last night I finished mocking up the upper intercooler pipe and I did a temp install of the L1R turbo. Steve pulled out the VPC and harness in anticipation of the ECMlink that we are going to use for tuning. We have a work day scheduled for Saturday and we are hoping to get the exhaust built, IC pipes finished, and the car running by the end of the weekend. We should be streaming live too so if you want to tune and watch you can.

Why that wheel choice? Not that it's not a good wheel, but I can't imagine OEM Cobra wheels being cheap like replica ones.

That is a great question. I've used a few different types of wheels and one set in particular I loved. It was a Borbet wheel and after an off track incident I destroyed two wheels. After finding out that they were no longer available and I was stuck with only 2 good wheels I vowed to never buy a wheel that I couldn't find replacements for.

That's how I found my way to the Mustang Cobra wheel. For a 17x9" wheel they are not as expensive as you may think. I am lucky to have a local Mustang parts dealer, northcoastperformance.com that has the real deal Ford Racing ones for $150/wheel. For that price it seemed silly to buy a no name wheel.

Gotchya. Can't beat $150. Just going by what oem wheels usually go for I thought they'd be $300+. Keep up on the blogs etc, it's one of the more exciting things to follow on here right now. I can't wait til you guys kick it into high gear and start testing etc.

Have you ever used the fp exhaust manifold in the past?I want to purchase one for my new build and just wanted an opinion on it. I figured I can't beat the price of it for what looks like awesome quality.

The FP manifold you see in the pictures came off my Eclipse track car. Its been on the car for while now and I beat the snot out of it every chance I get. Its been perfect. It has some very slight cosmetic issues but that's my fault. The track car has a heat extraction vent right over the turbo so the manifold and turbo get we when it rains. I would buy one again in a heartbeat.
