I am installing boost and EGT gauges in my new DSM, and just wondering where is the best and easiest place to run the lines through the firewall? these are A pillar mounted too.

is that gonna require dash removal? I also heard of going through where the steering column goes through? or should i just drill a new hole?

throttle cable area is the easiest.

tip for boost controller... get rid of that crap hard line and run a nice soft rubber vac line to it.

 im doin a boost gauge, not a boost controller. already have a MBC

I have put gauges in several cars and my last i did I followed the directions in this thread. I really like this over the others because it is short and there are no wires or hoses to clutter up the engine bay.

Hope that helps. At first it seems lie alot more work that just running them through the firewall but again I like this alot more than anyother method. Super clean.

I REALLY wish i would have seen your post before i went underneath it all tonight. went through the speedo cable grommet. nice little nipple you cut off and its got a fairly big hole to run everything through. could still pull it all back out and run it that way, awesome stuff. :) thanks for everybody's posts. now i gotta get my Evo III stuff installed as it arrived today. gotta port that WG hole and O2. got the manifold, turbo, O2 housing :thumb:

not a bad car for a 17yr old.... (awaits the "too much power for a highschooler!!" flame posts)
