You can just run the wire to the fuse box and use a voltmeter or a test light to find a power that turns on when you turn on your lights… below is a link with more specifics on how to make the light intensity change with your interior dimmer switch:

Use any switched 12v power source. If you tap the head light wire under the dash then it should allow you to be able to use the dimmer switch as well. The cig. outlet is a switched 12v power source.
