so today i pulled it apart cause the previous owner had the white face gauges and i pulled the covers off so they were all black again. well i had to pull the needles off so i could remove the covers im pretty sure i put the gas gauge back in the same spot it was, and all the other gauges at the bottom because thats where they sit when the key's off. well went for a drive after and my gas guage sits at the bottom and dont go up and my temp gauge will only go up like quarter of in ince... boost gauge dont work any more but that dont matter cause i have a diff one, and not sure if my oil pressure is workin properly either. any info on how to fix it will be great thanks guys!

Normally, when you take the needles off you have to lift them over the stop and leave them to rest at their position. From that, you mark it, take off the needle, do what you have to do and replace the needle to where it was after having been taken off the stop. Then once the needle is back on, move it back over the stop and it should read correctly. The small ones is where they sat when the car was off. Maybe you didn't push the cluster in enough and a connection isn't being made with the circuit behind it. You could try and push it more in to make sure everything is making contact.

Gas gauge - leave it until you fill up the tank fully. Then put it at the full line.
Temperature gauge - let the car warm up and then put it where it would normally sit (usually around the middle).
Boost gauge - this should sit about 1/4 of the way up the gauge when on I believe. Take a guess and put it somewhere in the vacuum area since you said it doesn't really matter.

thanks guys what i did was turn the ignition on so every thing was up and put my temp in the middle cause it was at normal operating temp and put the gas in the same spot it was before. thats what i did before but it just went down and the temp on stayed barely up but thanks for the help!
