hey all
here's what i've experienced.. normally i fill my tank, then drive until it's empty.. i don't just throw in a buck or two whenever i need to go somewhere like some people do..
three gas station stops ago, i put $25 into my tank which is when the gas pump handle released, signalling that i'm full. this was after running my tank low enough to see the gas light (first time i've seen it..)
i was confused however, when the needle only went up to 7/8ths..
i then drove 200 miles at which time my needle was down to the E.. 200 is low, even considering 7/8ths of a tank.. but i was also driving hard because of my new bov/uicp
the next time i got gas, the gas pump handle released after almost $8 of gas... which got my about 1/4 of a tank.. i got gas again today and it released at $8 again, but i kept squeezing it until i had $10..
my question is; why would the gas pumps think i'm full when i'm not?
the only think i can think of is that i have a blockage in the line running to my tank causing gas to back up....
does anyone have any other ideas?
also, while poking aruond looking for anything odd, i seem to smell the faint scent of gas in my rear/passenger wheel well..
and maybe unrelated, but when i tried to get my car inspected a month or so ago, i failed because of like three sensors that they didn't like.. i think one was evap, another may have been O2... i'm not sure though
i can dig up the slip tomorrow...
thanks for any help
