Okay, a while back my thermostat was stuck shut. So I replaced the thermostat, gasket for the housing, and my radiator hose. Now, after I drive anywhere, I shut off my car and I hear a gargling sound from my thermostat and all the antifreeze in the reservoir tank has air bubbles shooting through it. The temperature guage is fine while driving. I noticed that the radiator fan on the left side (if I'm facing the engine) isn't turning and the other fan is, I'm not sure if that is normal. Can anyone tell me what is going on in there or if anything bad is about to happen? Thanks.

If the 2gs are the same as 1gs the left fan is controlled by your coolant temp and the right fan is for your a/c.
As for the bubbles it doesn't sound normal. Are you leaking any water anywhere?

Just a thought, but when you replaced the t-stat, did you let the air out of your cooling system? I've seen/heard some weird problems arise from air trapped in the system. With the rad cap off, give your upper radiator hose a good squeeze to let out some of the trapped air. If this doesn't fix the problem, try pressure testing your rad. cap, or replacing it. Are you using an OEM cap? If not, that could be the problem. Non-OEM caps like to break on DSMs.....

I squeezed the air out of the hose yesterday and it did lessen but not completely diminish. I will check the cap next. No, the thermostat is in correctly, I checked that also. Would it even work if it weren't? I'll keep you posted. :dsm:

Your fans operate the way mine does. I had some bubbles, and I just flushed the system and refilled it, and now I have no problems. Consider doing that.
