gapping BPR6ES - 0.28 ????

Hey im just about to change my twin spark plugs to BPR6ES on my 2g GST

i read that they should be gapped to 0.28

now im standing with the messure thing.. i got one saying 028 witch is 0,70 mm ..

is that the one.. or is 0,28 = 0,28 mm?

hoping for fast help ;)
 
You dont need to gap NGK's. if they are not correct take them back!

You should check the gap on any spark plug you buy. I had to adjust the ones I got, they don't come at exactly .028". If you can't gap a spark plug, you shouldn't be working on your car. Some of the vendors might be nice enough to gap them before they ship them though.

Yes you do. It's always a good idea to verify the gap before you put the plugs in. They may all be at .028 out of the box. But you won't know if you don't check them. It doesn't hurt the integrity of the plug to make the gap correct. Why would you waste the fuel just to take them back?
 
Not thread jacking but, is there any benifit in running the .028 gap vs. the stock .032 gap on a stock car? I ran the .028 gap with my old Eclipse and Evo III 16g @ 15psi. I have the stock gap on my stock Talon right now though.

Sometimes a smaller gap is required to keep from "blowing out" the spark. I've used a .028 gap since my car was stock and I've never had a problem.

It did start mis firing before. Turns out the old plugs had worn to a .040-.045 gap.

^That's a huge gap for a Turbo car. I never knew the plugs would get like that. I'll go ahead a gap mine at .028 when I have a chance.

Yeah, by 10psi it would start bucking horribly. I thought it was a boost leak, but it turned out to be the plugs. I'm not sure how they got like that either because I had just gapped them in August when I did a bunch of maintenance.
