Is a FWD clutch different from an AWD clutch? I'm sure there are threads on here about it but I dont have time to search right now

my uncle who got me into the whole dsm scene said they were different and i needed an AWD clutch, but i didn't think they were different at allyes they are the same
ok sweet, so all i gotta do now is buy an awd flywheel. an oem flywheel would work fine with my act 2600 clutch setup right?Pressure plate and disks are the same, the flywheel is different.
^^ There are both 6 and 7 bolt fwd and awd flywheels.
OP- Yes, make sure to get the flywheel stepped to .612 and it's also a good idea to replace your clutch fork and fulcrum ball while your at it.
Don't forget an OEM TOB, don't use the ACT one.
does that mean getting it resurfaced or something? i've never heard of that^^ There are both 6 and 7 bolt fwd and awd flywheels.

TOB's don't last very long is all i can think ofWhat's wrong with the ACT tob?
thanks dude. i was also planning on replacing the TOB anyways.use the OEM TOB, just do it, act TOB have made noise for previous users on this forum.
yes buy a AWD flywheel. if its used bring it to a machine shop and have the machines step the flywheel to -.612
so yes resurface it so your clutch will have a uniform surface to grab to and break into
awd flywheel is different than a fwd flywheel.
yes there are 6 bolt engines in fwds, the difference is the fwd flywheel has different thickness than a awd.
