i bought an eprom ecu at a low price, but dont know if it was from a fwd or awd... does that matter? if it does matter then atleast i know id be able to resell it if it turns out to be an awd eprom ;)

i searched and i know the ecu is from a 95 (duh) and the model number is md309947 or md312464 depending on which one they send. the pinouts and everything are the same too right?

they are the same as in terms that you will regualry use, the same pinout and connectors are the same, the difference is in the speed limiter. AWDs had Z rated tires from the factory thus no speed limiter. Us FWDs were not that lucky, we got stuck with H rated tires from the factory thus a speed limiter was added, they have a VFAQ to elimiate the speed limiter (IE 130MPH) located here: http://www.dsm.org/how-tos/speedlimiter.htm. Other than this they are the same.

yea that is true, however i would 'assume' that the ecu is going to be used for link or someone elses chip, and generally the speed limiter is removed during this process on a fwd ecu.

Yup they are the same, except for this exception.
