Fule pump Problems

I just put a 255 fule pump in and know my car does not want to start. It does not get fuel. If i pump it, it will finly start, but it will not stay running anless i keep it around 3000 rpms. Ater about 2 minits the pump starts i wine like thay do and the car stays running what do i do to fix this.

I don't understand.

you say it gets no fuel but if you pump it (pump what?) it will start but won't stay running unless you keep it about 3000 and after 2 minutes it is fine?

DId you install it correctly (hint o ring?)
Do you have an AFPR? what is your fuel pressure at idle?

The car wont start if I do not pump the gas, and it wont stay running unless i hold the gas for a couple of minits. then the fuel pump will start to whine and then it will run.

Your symptom are strange. I also had no fuel after the install of my 255, it ended up being the harness. I guess my removing the connection and then pluging it back again was not good enough. after spraying it with contact cleaner and cleaning both contacts (clean them well). I have not had any problems. Its been 1 year now knock on wood.

most likely it is your connector.
But attack eagle could also be right. When you installed the 255 did you lube the O ring? Are you sure it seated properly. If it didnt you wont get any fuel pressure and your car wont run.
I just put a 255 in my Evo and the damn thing is quiet as hell. You shouldnt be able to hear it very easily.
Pull it, and reinstall would be my suggestion

Improperly seated fuel pump o-ring due to faulty installation.

Happens all the time.

I just put a 255 in my Evo and the damn thing is quiet as hell. You shouldnt be able to hear it very easily.
Pull it, and reinstall would be my suggestion

i have a friend with a 190 walbro fule pump and u can hear his fule pump in a 2g eclipse. hell i can hear my stock one when i have my back seat out . your evo one must be farther away from u or no were near u in the car. i wouldent really compare a fule pump in an evo to a 1g or 2g dsms. they are a whole diffrent kinda platform
