Hey fellas, I've read all the dsm FAQs/ searched for stuff on injectors/pumps ect. But all I have managed is to stumble across 100 threads of ppl haveing tuning problems for the most part. What size injectors/ fuel pump would I need for my goals? I am planning to build my 93 talon with a 2.3 stroker kit and would like to make a reliable 350 hp. Would a 190 wally and a set of 550cc cut it or would i have to go 250 and get 660cc? Bigger maby, idk. Any help is good Thanks!:D

From my experiences and research - I know that the stock fuel filter and lines from the fuel pump to the fuel rail is a large restriction. http://www.stevetek.com/R-FuelSys.html Mr. Stevetec suggests to atleast replace the restrictive fuel filter and line to the fuel rail. Buy a Walbro 255 (if you don't mind the slight buzzing noise - sounds burly anyways) and I'd imagine with the HP goal you're shooting for, 550cc injectors sounds good with the above mods.

The stock fuel pressure regulator should be good up until then, but most people would recommend an adjustable one. If you do get one, make sure you buy a gauge (either inline or high tech(sending unit) in dash).

All can be had for a inexpensive price.

If all you want is 350whp you don't need to replace the fuel lines. The stock lines are plenty good upwards of 500 WHP.

IMO a hotwired 190lph Wally will be just fine...I'd go with the larger injectors just to be on the extremely safe side. Besides, why not go with the biggest injectors you can control just in case you want more power (which you probably will) later down the road. With the 190lph you won't need a FPR.

I noticed that you said reliable...Since that 1 word is in your post, why are you going to run a stroker motor? A 2.0 will more than get you to the 350hp goal with very minimal turbo lag. A 16G will spool like crazy on a 2.0l...So IMO you don't need to spend the $$ on building a stroker.

I was planning on tuning my car for a little while using just a Maf translator and then get an SAFC later for fine tuning. What are the biggest injectors I could run on just the Maf-t? Does anyone know approxamatly what each size injector is good for hp wise? ex:
550cc=good to 400
660cc=good to 500 ect.
And what is unreliable about a stroker kit? Sure you can't rev as high as you would otherwise, but I have no desire to take my car past 7k anyways and it comes with eagle rods rated for 600hp. Sounds reliable to me since I'm only planning on putting 3-4 hundred on em.

I guess I just don't see why you're planning on doing a stroker motor when you only want 350hp. What are your goals that made you consider a stroker?

Best advice is, do a search on "stroker AND reliability".

As for the injectors, it all depends on what other mods you have on your car and the octane you use, your FAR etc...With that said, for 300hp, 500cc is plenty. For 400hp, I'd go with larger injectors.

longer stroke creates higher pistons speeds but if you don't rev it up to high that isn't much of a problem. it also creates more stress on the crank and subsequently the main caps/studs/bolts.

you need to build the motor pretty solid since a lot of factors change to how the motor is stressed. but, regardless i think if your plans are not going to be extreme hp and you don't beat on your car you shouldn't run into any issues.

Just an idea that if you do end up going with the 550's you could also decide to add methanol injection whch would allow you another 100cc's. And as far as 350whp that is my goals and they can easily be obtained on stock internals.

I have a n/t so I'm going to be replacing the pistons anyways. This is my only chance to get it the way I want it so I just figured I'd spend the extra to get the stroker. I want the low end drivabitity and faster spool:D . I actually just started pulling stuff off the engine today to get it ready to pull and send the block and head off the the machine shop:D . I'm doing a full build, so I'm thinking I'll have a pretty damn stout engine after I give it the appropriate brake in time.
Would I be able to tune up to 660cc injectors with just a Maf-T pro and an S-Afc? Would a 190 cut it or would i have to go with the 255? How would I "hotwire" my fuel pump and what is does it do? Thanks

What turbo are you planning on running? I still don't see the point in a stroker unless you're running a really large turbo...but different strokes for different folks I guess. :)

1. For 350whp a 190lph Walbro is just fine. Rewire info here
2. Rewiring the fuel pump allows it to receive higher voltage thus increasing it's flow...Thus increasing your safety margin.
3 You can run 660cc injectors with just a MAFT & SAFC
4. I hope your modding plans involve getting a logger of some sort.

I was planning on going with the evoIII 16g. Yes I am planning on getting a logger at some point. On kind of a side note, What are all you guys out there seeing for spool times on your evo III?
I wanted to go stroker for the added low end and the spool, But if it is already moderatly low just as a 2.0 I might just get some pistons ( are the rods in a n/t 4g63 as strong as in the turbos? ) Thanks again for the input!
