Has anyone here ever seen, or heard of delivering fuel from the FPR right into each injector without having a fuel rail? I dunno where I saw it in the past, but I saw a 4g63 engine that did not have a fuel rail, it had the 4 injectors with lines going right to the injectors from the FPR. Is this useful, does it serve any purpose, is it a waste?

Any input would be good.

that is mechanical fuel injection otherwise known as CIS or CIS-e (aka Jetronic). Actually the fuel lines come off the fuel distributor.. the fuel pressure regulator hooks up to the return line, just like ours... somehow I doubt it was a 4g63... Ferrari's Porsche's Audi's VW's and some BMW's had it.

unless you are trying to lose fuel efficiency, forget about it.... you would only lose horsepower

No, it was a 4g63. I have only ever seen it used on 1 other engine and it was in a VW Golf GTI many years ago. I didn't know if it was worth it, what good it was, or if there was a specific purpose of using it.
